11 days of high-altitude acclimatization (Leh-Markha Valley-Stok Base Camp) crossing some 5000 m passes, sleeping in subzero temperatures in the tent, experiencing wolves attack at the base camp, getting frost-nipped, climbing Stok Kangri (6153 m/20,180 ft) for the second time in five years in the night at -15 deg C just to spend just 20 min on the top in the rarefied air for this amazing view esp. of the Karakoram range (and K2)…pure madness and yet…priceless
